It's Alive!!

Well, today was the final assembly:

Valves are adjusted and exhaust in place.

Also put in new oil, to brake in...

Valve covers in place.

Ready to go!

This is the gunk someone used for a gasket between the manifold and carburetor:

Then the heads, cylinders and pistons came off:

The heads and cylinders were sent to the machine shop, and after keeping on being postponed at the first machine shop, they were sent to a different place and few months later, they have finally arrived:

The cylinders are in place with new piston rings, and now it is time to install the sleeves:

 

This is the tool I had to adapt from from a regular ring compression tool. Since "regular" tools are too wide to fit between the crankcase and sleeve, I had to dismantle and trim it in order to fit:

Then the heads are in and torqued:

(never mind the allen wrench!)

Then the shrouds go in to place:
